A tour to Wollaton Hall and meeting Titus, a REAL Tyrannosaurus Rex (T. Rex) fossil

Did you know that the Batman film by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight Rises used Wollaton Hall as its new Wayne Manor? Since The Wayne Manor in the first film, Batman Begins (Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom) was destroyed by fire. It has full resemblance to the latter.
Wollaton Hall is located within the grounds of Wollaton Park in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The hall is a classical country house which was originally owned by Sir Francis Willoughby, an English industrialist and coal owner. It was built between 1580-1588 by architect Robert Smythson. To simplify, the hall is an extravagant country house and an architectural sensation during its age. Through the years, from 1925, the Wollaton Hall is owned by Nottingham City Council and is being used as a museum. The surrounding park showcases gardens and deer habitat, and is also frequently used for outdoor events like concerts, festivals and sports activities.
On our tour to Wollaton Hall, we were lucky to witness Titus, a T. Rex fossil discovered in Montana, United States on 2014. The hall also houses 6 main galleries which are:
- Natural Connections Gallery
- Bird Gallery
- Insect Gallery
- Mineral Gallery
- Africa Gallery
- Natural History Matters Gallery
We find our tour very entertaining, educating and full of adventures. We recommend visiting the Wollaton Hall as it is open to all types of visitors including children and you can have a picnic in the gardens too! Our video tour is now available in our Youtube channel, feel free to visit and give us a like and subscribe.
